The iconic Nike Air Safari, a masterpiece by Tinker Hatfield from 1987, is making a comeback! After its last release in 2018, the sneaker will be available again on Friday, 19th July 2024 at selected retailers. It'll drop at Nike on 24th July 2024. Get the lowdown on where to cop these kicks!
Nike Air Safari OG 'Monarch' - 2024 | HM3818-001
It's been nearly 30 years since the iconic Safari print first hit the scene. This print gained fame as part of the Air Pack, which included four different models: the Air Max 1, the Air Trainer I, the Air Sock, and of course, the Air Safari.
Tinker Hatfield got inspired by a furniture store display featuring a sofa draped in ostrich leather. This sofa became the muse for the Nike Air Safari, giving birth to its iconic print.
The new Air Safari keeps its classic colour palette of Black, Monarch, and Light Iron Ore. Staying true to the original design, it features a black and orange leather base, breathable perforations on the tongue, and Monarch accents extending to the tongue and lining. The design is finished with a black-and-white midsole and a rubber outsole.
