British football club Liverpool FC is once again teaming up with LeBron James, dear community. Back in 2023, we saw the popular Nike Air Max 1 'Liverpool' appear as a result of the three-part collaboration. This time, the Nike NXXT Gen AMPD is part of the collection in a 'Light Orewood' colorway. The sneaker comes with a matching collection consisting of football kits, tees, hoodies and sweatpants.
Liverpool FC x Nike LeBron NXXT Gen AMPD 'Light Orewood'
Since 2011, Los Angeles Lakers' basketballer LeBron James has been part-owner of Liverpool FC. In 2020, Liverpool FC signed a five-year deal with Nike, a brand LeBron had also released several sneakers with at the time. A collaboration celebrating the three names was therefore a logical step for Nike, Lebron and LFC alike.
After the successful Air Max 1 'Liverpool', which appeared in early 2023, we now see a perhaps lesser-known silhouette pass by; the Nike NXXT Gen AMPD in the colorway 'Light Orewood'. Particularly popular on the basketball court, the shoe has a performance-enhancing design.
The sneaker pays tribute to Akron, the city where LeBron is from and still active. The sole has been given a traction pattern based on the city's map. The Air Zoom in the forefoot is slightly curved to be bendable in multiple directions. This returns energy and provides fast and responsive cornering.
The Liverpool F.C. x Nike LeBron NXXT Gen AMPD 'Light Orewood' uses the colours beige and blue, and features gold details. A double Swoosh appears on the centre panel. The club logo is also placed across the design.
The sneaker comes with an accompanying collection, consisting of football kits, tees, hoodies and sweatpants. One of the highlights here are the iconic phrases ‘you’ll never walk alone’ from LFC, and ‘strive for greatness’ from LeBron that can be seen in gold letters.
