Short history of the New Balance 574
The New Balance 574 was first designed and introduced in 1988 a by New Balance employee Steven Smith, who also designed the 997 silhouette. The 574 was one of the first sneakers to use a combination of suede and mesh materials on the upper, which made it both breathable and durable.
The original colorways of the 574 were a navy/grey and a grey/white. The 574 quickly turned from a running shoe to a lifestyle sneaker and nowadays the silhouette can't be missed in street fashion. With big collabs like the Stone Island x New Balance 574 and the Tokyo Design Studio collab, the 574 also showed his face on a lot of famous New Balance collaborations.
