Following the recent release of the New Balance Made in UK 1500 and 991v2 ‘Total Eclipse’, we now see the accompanying lookbook. The collection pays tribute to the brand's British heritage and has cast some of the UK's most influential figures, including Ebere Eze and Niko B.
New Balance Made in UK
New Balance's Made in UK line stems from the dedicated artisans of the village of Flimby in England. The line stands for quality and attention to detail, and it shows in the designs of both trainers and clothing. We already recently saw the release of two New Balance Made in UK trainers, as mentioned above, and these too return in the lookbook.
The lookbook features familiar names. Footballer Ebere Eze, who currently plays at Crystal Palace FC, Teoni Hinds, an artist known for her romantic expression and photographer Ewen Spencer, known for his photos of youth culture and subcultures.
The campaign also features rapper Niko B, acclaimed for his narrative lyrics and, finally, singer-songwriter Sahsha Keable. Each talent reflects on their heritage and the British influences that have shaped their personal style. The campaign faithfully features the 991v2 and 1500, as well as new silhouettes from the collection.
According to New Balance, ‘craftsmanship’ means neither sticking to traditions purely for tradition's sake, nor innovation for innovation's sake. Instead, it should be about using traditional methods when they are still the best way, and innovation when it actually improves something.
