On February 1, 2022, the Chinese New Year will take place and Jordan celebrates this with the Chinese New Year collection. This includes three different Air Jordan sneakers and a number of matching clothing items.
Jordan has been celebrating the Chinese New Year since 2011 and comes up with a new collection every year. The Chinese New Year, also known as the Spring Festival, begins on the second new moon after the December 21 solstice. This is between the 21st of January and the 20th of February. This year the holiday takes place on 1 February and 2022 is the year of the tiger.
CNY 2022 Collection
Jordan is responding to this and so the tiger is central to the CNY 2022 collection. The brand drops the Air Jordan 1 Low OG 'CNY' with a tiger print on the upper. The sneaker is beige with black and has a yellow translucent sole. There are also orange accents on the pair and the tiger is printed on the heel tab.
Two other models being dropped during the Chinese New Year 2022 are the Air Jordan 6 Low GC 'CNY' and the Jordan Air Legacy 312 'CNY'. These pairs have a light colorway and take their inspiration from the 'Ge Kiln' porcelain. This comes from China and colours light green. The sneakers are light green with gold and blue details and these also refer to the porcelain.
The upper of the Air Jordan 6 GC has been given a porcelain look. The pair comes with a 'cracking' motif on the toe. The Jumpman logo turns gold and gives the sneaker a chic look. The Air Legacy 312 combines the colours white, light blue and green. The Wing and Nike logo both turn gold. The sole is blue and translucent.
The brand also comes up with a number of different clothing items. Jordan drops bomber jackets, different jumpers and a number of sweatpants. The Jordan 'CNY' 2022 collection will be released on 30 December.
