It has been known for a while that Rihanna is going to make her comeback at PUMA. Their collaboration began in 2014 when Rihanna was appointed creative director of womenswear at PUMA. The singer has had several successful collaborations with this sports brand in the past, and now, in 2023, they are joining forces again. RiRi offers us an official first look at the Fenty x PUMA Avanti.
PUMA first released the Avanti in 2001 and now the duo is breathing new life into this silhouette. The sneakers design represents the intersection of two of PUMA's iconic styles, the King football boot and the Easy Rider running shoe. The result is a narrow vintage leather sneaker with a slim sole. In addition, the sneaker includes an eye-catching folded tongue printed with both 'Fenty' and the PUMA logo in gold or silver.
RiRi about the design: "I wanted to bring something iconic from the archives to the street, and the late great Pelé made the Avanti shoe so iconic".
