The New York-based label Bode, founded by Emily Adams and Bode Aujla, joins forces for the first time with Nike. Nike has supported athletes and celebrated sports for decades. Now, they're taking the next step with the Bode Rec. collection, designed in collaboration with Bode.
The first glimpses of the Bode Rec. collection appeared in early 2024 in the Bode FW24 lookbook. Now, we're seeing detailed images of the two Nike Astrograbber colorways and a clothing capsule.

2024 seems to be the year of the retro sneaker. With models like the adidas Samba, Nike Field General '82, Onitsuka Tiger Mexico 66, and the SL 72 making a comeback, classic silhouettes seem more relevant than ever. New York-based label Bode is capitalizing on this trend with the release of the Nike Astrograbber.
The first rumors about a Bode x Nike collaboration surfaced in 2023. In January 2024, Bode showcased their new collection, quietly unveiling the Nike Astrograbber in their lookbook, a sneaker inspired by the football shoe designed by Bill Bowerman in the 1970s.
Bode says about the Astrograbber: “The Astrograbber seemed a perfect fit for this collaboration, as it marks a moment in the 1970s that was pivotal in the history of both Nike and American sports.”

The football shoe was designed in collaboration with San Diego Chargers quarterback Dan Fouts. Since the model's introduction, the Nike Astrograbber has disappeared from the radar, until now. The Bode x Nike Astrograbber will be released in two colorways: 'Black' and 'Natural.'
The 'Black' variant features a leather upper with off-white details. The 'Natural' colorway, on the other hand, has a mesh, knit upper that gives the pair a unique touch. A notable detail of this collaboration is the charms hanging from the laces.
In addition to the Nike Astro Grabber, clothing items will also be dropping, including track jackets, shirts, and shorts. All of which offer a fresh perspective on sportswear.
Bode Aujla shares that her father's passion for team sports, the pride of student-athletes, and its impact on the community inspired her in creating this collection. Nike's dedication to innovation and listening to athletes, along with the legendary coach-athlete relationship between Bill Bowerman and Phil Knight, also played a significant role.
The Bode Rec. collection will be dropping on April 18, 2024, at bode.com and on May 1, 2024, at Nike and selected retailers. You can find a release overview in this article. Check out the collection images below and keep an eye on the Sneakerjagers news page for updates.
