March 26, 2023, was Air Max Day and this year it was celebrated in Paris. For the special day, Nike and SNS came together with the 'Untold Stories' event. During the day, several DJs were present and talks and workshops were given. Sneakerjagers was also present and reported live. In this recap, we tell you what Air Max Day 2023 was like.
Air Max Day 'Untold Stories'
Every year we join Nike and sneaker lovers around the world in celebrating the release of the Air Max 1. In 1987, the Air Max 1, designed by Tinker Hatfield, was introduced, and the model has been an all-time favorite with many ever since. During Air Max Day on March 26, the release date of the Air Max 1, the release of the sneaker will be celebrated.
This year, Nike came together with Sneakersnstuff (SNS) and the two organized the 'Untold Stories' event. The event took place in the heart of Paris and attendees could enter with their SNKRS app. Throughout the day, exhibitions by Enzo Lefort, Sara Sadik, Émile-Samory, and Junior Alaprod Zanmi were displayed.
The day and exhibitions were all about the return of the Nike Air Max 1 '86 Big Bubble 'University Red'. The Air Max 1 was introduced in 1987 by Tinker Hatfield. A few months before its release, the sneaker's Air unit was scaled down, due to complexities. The Big Bubble returned last Air Max Day for the first time since its release in 1987.
In addition to exhibitions, attendees could participate in workshops and DJs such as Dre Tala, Jaxx TMS, and AAA played the best tunes. With a gumball machine, you had a chance to win the Air Max 1 '86 Big Bubble. You could also learn more about Air Max technologies in the exhibit.
Sneakerjagers Untold Story
In the run-up to Air Max Day, Sneakerjagers also came up with their own campaign. The 'Untold Story' community challenge looked back at Nike's most successful works and collaborations. Under the motto "failures that lead to success," we told the stories of the Big Bubble, Michael Jordan's career and the world success of singer Billie Eilish.
Through the Sneakerjagers app, you could participate in the community challenge and test your knowledge about Nike's major milestones. We also gave away three copies of the Nike Air Max 1 '86 Big Bubble 'University Red'. The winners of the giveaway can be viewed here.
In addition, Sneakerjagers themselves attended the Air Max Day 'Untold Stories' event in Paris. Sneakerjagers own reporters Mats and Nikki conducted interviews with attendees and reported live. Through Instagram, you could stay up-to-date on the events during Air Max Day throughout the day.
Closing the day
