Former tennis star Serena Williams is coming out with her own colorway of the Nike Air Max 1 silhouette, dear community. Under the name of the Serena Williams Design Crew (SWDC), a Nike initiative dedicated to diversity in design, the 'Los Angeles' colorway will be released. The sneaker will most likely drop in summer 2024.
Serena Williams is a well-known name in the world of sports. Serena is the younger sister of Venus Williams, also one of the world's best tennis players. Both sisters have many titles to their name, including several grand slam titles, gold at the Olympics, Wimbledon titles and many more.
Serena has been collaborating with Nike since 2023. Under the name Serena Williams Design Crew, a first Air Max 1 colorway called the 'Golden Yellow' was released in 2023. Now we see a light pink design called Serena Williams Design Crew (SWDC) x Nike Air Max 1 'Los Angeles', a colourful sneaker that pays tribute to the city's vibrant culture. Pink and beige details give the pair a summery look.
The upper consists of sturdy mesh and suede. Overlays on the centre panel are beige leather. The suede mudguards have been given drilled details that give the pair a unique touch. The trainer's luxurious appeal shows in the soft, velour inner lining, dubreas on the laces and ornate lettering on the tongue and heel.
