It might just be the most surprising sneaker of 2024: the PUMA Speedcat. A classic that’s made a comeback after a few years, and it’s better than ever. To celebrate this popular silhouette, PUMA invited Sneakerjagers to the Speedcat event in Milan, featuring none other than Dua Lipa and Emily Ratajkowski.

PUMA Speedcat
The year 2024 brought many new sneakers, but one stood out to everyone: the PUMA Speedcat. Revived from the archives with rapper A$AP Rocky as the face of its comeback, the sneaker was an instant hit. Its clean and sleek design, originally created for motorsports, quickly captured the hearts of sneaker enthusiasts—and we’re fans too.
Plenty of reason for an event, and where better than Milan? Sneakerjagers, along with a group of content creators and artists such as Bully, Denise Kroes, Amber Delil, Anthony Kruijver, Timor Steffens, and Jay Way, were invited for a short trip centered around the Speedcat.
The event also featured two special guests: singer Dua Lipa and supermodel Emily Ratajkowski, both big fans of the Speedcat.
Off to Milan!
The team met on Monday morning at Schiphol Airport in Amsterdam. After passing through security together and checking in their luggage, everyone had a moment to relax before boarding began. Following a relatively short flight, the Sneakerjagers team arrived late afternoon at Hotel Principe di Savoia, in the heart of Milan.
After a quick freshen-up, they were off! After a brief welcome drink and introductions at The Westin Palace with all attendees, it was time for dinner. A short walk brought the team to Restaurant Il Paiolo, where the most delicious pastas and pizzas were served.
Drinks were poured for the guests, and the evening was stylishly wrapped up with a delightful dessert. Everyone returned to the hotel at a reasonable hour, as the next day promised a packed but especially an exciting schedule.
PUMA Speedcat event
Rested and ready, Mats and Ryan from the Sneakerjagers team sat down for breakfast the next morning. After a coffee and a croissant, everyone enjoyed some free time before the next activity began. At 11:45 a.m., the group gathered in the lobby to head to The Westin Palace for an elaborate lunch and the seeding lounge.
In the seeding lounge, everyone had the opportunity to put together their own outfit with their favorite PUMA items, accessories, and of course, the Speedcat sneakers. After a fit check with Anthony ("Ik loev het!") and a series of selfies for Instagram, it was time for lunch at restaurant MU Dim Sum, where traditional Chinese dishes were served.
Then came the trip's highlight: the PUMA Speedcat event at Gae Aulenti. To celebrate the PUMA Speedcat, this location was transformed into a club where various DJs played the best tracks throughout the evening. There were snacks and drinks, and at the end of the night, it was time for the meet-and-greet with the two special guests.
First to arrive was singer Dua Lipa, known for hits like 'One Kiss,' 'Levitating,' and 'Houdini.' Fully dressed in PUMA, including the matching Speedcats, the artist was introduced to the club, where she engaged in conversations with the attendees. Posing in front of the Lamborghini, she answered questions about the PUMA Speedcat and her favorite fashion moments of 2024.
Not long after, international supermodel Emily Ratajkowski walked in, also wearing the PUMA Speedcat. Later in the evening, AC Milan footballer Chanté-Mary Dompig arrived and Mats had the chance to ask her a few questions. After a brief encounter, the stars departed, and the party continued into the late hours.
AC Milan
A new morning without worries, just a slight hangover at most. Since everyone had partied until late, the day started off calmly with lunch at restaurant Soulgreen. With an extensive menu, this spot was the perfect match for anyone looking for a vegan or vegetarian dish, or those wanting to indulge in a fancy à la carte fish dish.
After all the partying and activities of the past few days, most hadn’t yet seen all the beauty Milan has to offer. Time for a day of sightseeing! Between dinner and lunch, the group had the chance to explore the city, admire the cathedral, or visit the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele.
When you're in Italy, a good pizza is a must. Right at 6 p.m., the Sneakerjagers team was expected at Savo Pizzeria Gourmet, one of Milan's best pizzerias. With an extensive menu offering a variety of flavors, everyone enjoyed a hearty meal before the next event. AC Milan was playing a home game against Red Star Belgrade—time to show some support!
Each wearing an AC Milan tee, the group was cheered all the way to the stadium. If you've never been to San Siro, the home stadium of AC Milan, it's definitely a must-visit!
Sweet goodbye!
All good things must come to an end, and so did this trip. After a memorable evening at San Siro, it was time to pack. The souvenirs, outfits, and of course, the PUMA Speedcats, made their way back to the Netherlands. While waiting at the airport, the group had one last meal together and took time to reflect on the trip.
At the airport in Milan, the trip was reflected upon during one last group meal. Afterward, it was time to board the flight. By the end of the afternoon, the Sneakerjagers team had arrived back in the Netherlands. With a lot of new memories and adventures, everyone went their separate ways.
