The big-ass sneaker was already teased during Paris Fashion Week last summer. At that time, it wasn’t clear whether it was going to be a release or just a sample or f&f release. Now that adidas has launched the official campaign, we can be sure of a global release.
For the campaign, Williams enlisted the help of the hip-hop duo Clipse, consisting of No Malice and Pusha T, two well-known faces at adidas. The campaign was photographed in Virginia Beach, the hometown of Williams, Clipse, and photographer Cam Hicks.
The setting of Virginia Beach is used to showcase the unique energy, characters, and iconic scenes of the city in a series of images. The campaign captures Pharrell’s connection to Virginia and celebrates the beauty of everyday moments with striking and immersive photography.
The adidas Superstar 92 will be released in two colorways: 'Cloud White' and 'Core Black'. By combining bold proportions with premium materials, this new version pays tribute to cultural heritage while ensuring the iconic Superstar continues to evolve.
The silhouette, nicknamed Double Wide, draws inspiration from the '90s. The thick padding around the ankle combined with a sturdy sole recalls the functional details of skate shoes. With VIRGINIA on the tongue, Pharrell once again hints at his roots.
The adidas Superstar 92 drops on March 1, 2025, at adidas and selected retailers.
