Nike and Japanese clothing brand COMME DES GARÇONS are once again coming together for a new sneaker collab. Not a completely new design, as this time it involves an old familiar one, this time Nike and CDG are venturing into the Nike Air Pegasus 2005. A release date is still uncertain, but the sneaker is expected sometime in the next few months of 2023.
COMME DES GARÇONS has never been afraid to opt for the bolder silhouettes in their past Nike collaborations. The obscure Nike Air Max Sunder and the Nike Eagle that the brands have worked on before are good examples.
This time a two-piece pack of the 2005 Air Pegasus model comes out. Both sneakers go for a monochrome look, now also a common feature in COMME DES GARÇONS and Nike collaborations. The sneakers come out in both an All-Black and an All-White colorway. The branding is very minimalist and comes in the form of 'Air Pegasus' printed on the heel, tongue and on the side of the sole.
The biggest modification we see is on the side panels. Instead of the standard quarter overlays of the Air Pegasus 2005, CDG opts to use a smooth leather panel. This gives the sneaker a cleaner look.
No official release date has been announced yet, but this information will be shared in the coming months of 2023.
