Chinese New Year, also known as the Spring Festival, will be celebrated this year on 29 January 2025, dear community. In recent years, Nike has released several new sneaker designs in celebration of this holiday. In 2025, the Swoosh will also drop several sneakers celebrating the new year, which is the year of the snake according to the Chinese calendar.
Chinese New Year 2025
Even though our fireworks have already been set off some time ago, the Chinese New Year is yet to kick off. In 2025, the holiday falls on 29 January and heralds the year of the snake. According to the Chinese calendar, each year represents an animal, which will experience good luck in that year.
Nike is celebrating the year of the snake with some releases. The Air Force 1 Low, for example, appears in two colorways: a white-with-green variant and a beige one. Both colorways use bright red details and an additional Swoosh. The leather on the heel has dynamic shapes printed into the material.
In addition, we see two Dunk Low colorways appearing that use green and red details. The LX variant uses shiny leather, which gives the design a chic look. Also, this variant comes with round laces and a suede Swoosh instead of a leather one.
The latest pair from the collection is the Air Jordan 1 Retro Low OG ‘Year of the Snake’. This sneaker combines the colours white, grey and light blue. The Swoosh on the centre panel has a snake print in reference to the year of the snake.
Release
It is not yet known exactly when the Nike ‘Year of the Snake’ pack will release. However, we can expect the sneakers to appear sometime in January 2025 still, most likely around the 29th of the month. Just make sure to keep an eye on the Sneakerjagers release calendar for any updates.
