The first images of a new Nike Air Force 1 Shadow Low have surfaced. The pair appear to be part of the 'tissue paper' series, as last week we saw images of a new Dunk Low and Air Force 1, which also contained this material. Check out the official images of the Nike Air Force 1 Shadow Low 'Goddess of Victory' here.

When you take a look at the Air Force 1 Shadow, you immediately notice the tissue paper wrapped around the shoe. But what is drawn on it may not be immediately obvious. On the back, it says "Goddess of Victory" and on the front, there is a female silhouette in blue. For those who have been to the Louvre or know Greek mythology, it may be immediately clear. The shoe depicts the Greek Goddess: Nikè of Samothrake.
Niké van Samothrake
Nike is the goddess of victory and the inspiration for the Nike brand name. With this shoe, Nike seems to celebrate a piece of history. Also, the design seems to be made especially for women, because the design is on a women's model.
As mentioned before, the statue of Niké is in the Louvre and is made of marble. The sneakers seem to have this as inspiration: when you remove the layer of tissue paper, a marble design emerges. Other parts have been made to match the white-grey colourway. Different shades of grey can be seen, for example, the swoosh and sole are made in dark grey. The laces and the border above the sole are kept classically white.
On the insoles, the statue of Niké can again be seen in blue. That the sneakers have a unique design is certain. Are you planning to buy a pair?
