We've been telling you a lot about New Balance and their special models lately. Today, the silhouette of the NB 1500 is in the spotlight. Over the years, the New Balance 1500 has become one of the most popular New Balance models. The 1500 was first released in 1989 and was intended as a sports shoe, mainly for basketball and tennis. Since the first release, the sneaker has had a lot of colorways and also a lot of collaborations.
New Balance 1500 - the story
First released in 1989, the 1500 was designed by Steven Smith, who also designed the New Balance classic 574 and 997, among others. Today, the 1500 is a flagship sneaker for the New Balance factory in Flimby, Cumbria, in the UK. That's why many 1500 models are also marked "Made in the UK".
The design of the 1500 is very popular in the sneaker scene and is often worn as a casual shoe. The silhouette has sleek lines and the moulded midsole contains the famous ENCAP technology for strong comfort. You also notice that the 'N' logo is relatively small compared to other models from New Balance.
