adidas Originals and Chinese designer Dingyun Zhang have joined forces for their very first collaborative creation. The result is a strikingly innovative take on the iconic Samba sneaker.

In case you're not yet familiar with Dingyun Zhang, we can best describe him as a designer inspired by 'fluidity'. His work revolves around simplicity and functionality, merging a clear aesthetic vision with practical thinking.
Of course, the monochromatic black look of this Samba immediately catches the eye. This is a nod to Zhang's school days when he had to blacken his Sambas to comply with uniform regulations. Other notable details include the ventilating holes along the Three Stripes, a shorter tongue, and subtle branding.
Furthermore, the adidas Samba, already known for its flowing lines, gains an extra dimension with Zhang's interpretation. The upper of the silhouette is redesigned in glossy patent leather with lines mimicking waves. This is paired with a suede toe box and a matte rubber sole with embossing.
