Chinese designer Dingyun Zhang is once again joining forces with adidas. For their next collaboration, the duo unveils two colorways of the adidas Samba and the new Kouza silhouette. The collaboration will drop on October 18, 2024, at adidas and select retailers.

Dingyun Zhang, a designer who has worked for YEEZY and Moncler, joins adidas for a second time. The designer is particularly known for his oversized puffers with abstract designs. Following the success of the Samba earlier this year, we now see two new colorways of the silhouette appear and the Kouzo silhouette makes its debut.
Craftsmanship and storytelling come together in the adidas Kouza. The silhouette combines resilience, mobility, and breathability. The name Kouza derives from an ornamental plant from East Asia that changes throughout the seasons. The colors of this plant are also brought back in the colorways of the adidas Kouza.
The sneaker comes with a reinforcing heel cap that subtly references Zhang's signature style. The extended outsole and sealed seams contrast the mesh upper and rubber elements. Based on the adidas Beijing 2008 Boxing Boot, the design combines tradition with innovation.
“I’m obsessed with the idea of transformation, and how nothing is as it seems,” Zhang said in a statement, “the adidas Kouza embodies the oscillation between form and function while retaining elegance and style”.
The Dinghyun Zhang x adidas Samba appears in two colorways 'Brooxi' and 'White Vapor'. The silhouette comes with oversized elements on the heel that hint at Zhang's designs.

The Dinghyun Zhang x adidas Originals collab will be available at adidas and selected retailers on October 18, 2024.
