Earlier this year, Bricks & Wood announced that the label would be coming out with no less than three New Balance collabs by the end of 2024. The first has just been unveiled: the New Balance 1906U. The sneaker, called 'The Wind Beneath My Wings,' features a black colorway with colorful details.
Bricks & Wood is once again joining forces with New Balance. In 2021, the two labels first worked together and released a New Balance 57/40. In 2023, they released the 9060 'Nothing Changed But The Address,' which took inspiration from the home of the grandmother of Kacey Lynch, founder of Bricks & Woods.
Following the success of the 9060 release, Bricks & Wood announced that they would continue their collaboration with the Boston-based sneaker label through 2024. In doing so, the duo did not reveal which models would be involved. Dani Barazza, Bricks & Wood's COO and designer, recently unveiled the 1906U on her socials.
The images show a black sneaker with brightly colored overlays. Color is prominent on the center panel and nose. Yellow and fuschia hues alternate on the rest of the design. Called 'The Wind Beneath My Wings,' the sneaker is inspired by the Chrysiridia rhipheus, also known as the Madagascan moth.
It is not yet known when the Bricks & Wood x New Balance 1906U 'The Wind Beneath My Wings' will release. However, we can expect the collab in 2024. Keep an eye on the Sneakerjagers release calendar for updates surrounding this release.
