The PUMA Speedcat has had a long run and seems like it can still run a few more miles. Last weekend, fashion house Balenciaga unveiled their own version of the Speedcat, and it's exactly what you would expect: distressed and worn-out.
Balenciaga x PUMA AW25
Last weekend, Balenciaga unveiled their AW25 collection in Paris. The show was casual and brought everyday designs to the runway – think plastic bags, tank tops, and tracksuits. The Spanish fashion house is known for its bold and sometimes controversial designs and campaigns (yes, we haven’t forgotten that one campaign).
During the runway, Balenciaga debuted their next collaboration with none other than PUMA. The collection included jackets, tracksuit bottoms, accessories, and PUMA’s most popular sneaker at the moment: the Speedcat.
The silhouette appeared in various colorways, each featuring torn details, something we’ve seen more often in Balenciaga’s designs – think of their version of the Converse sneaker that was sold for $180 in 2022.
It is not yet known when the Balenciaga x PUMA collaboration will drop and at what prices. Looking at the previous collaboration with Adidas in 2022, the prices will likely fall more in Balenciaga’s price range than in PUMA’s.
Keep an eye on the Sneakerjagers news page for updates.
It is not exactly known when the collection will drop, but since the collaboration was part of the AW25 collection, we can expect it to release this fall.
The collaboration uses the popular PUMA Speedcat and gives it a distressed look.
