Ready to elevate your sneaker game with a distinctive addition? Look no further than the Axel Arigato Onyx, the newest silhouette to emerge from the esteemed Swedish brand. Infusing a modern flair into iconic '80s aesthetics, the Onyx sneaker draws inspiration from robust basketball silhouettes.
In creating the Onyx, Axel Arigato aimed to merge aspects of basketball and music cultures that are fundamental to the brand's identity.
The sneaker therefore embodies shapes, structures, and materials synonymous with these cultural movements. Think, for example, of the wider profile and thicker sole, made of supple, premium semi-aniline leather. This is combined with mesh, elastane, and polyester for a truly contemporary, premium design.
Other eye-catching details include a molded rubber basketball ARIGATO graphic on the tongue and EST.2014 branding on the heel. Furthermore, branded accents adorn the sole and side profile of the laces, while a lace eye on the tongue is a nod to classic basketball attributes.
The sneakers will be available in four colorways through Axel Arigato's website starting March 15, 2024. A white/beige and white/green color palette will be available for both men and women. There is also the white/chestnut brown variant for men, while women can also opt for the white/pink version.
