Japanese designer Ryota Iwai, the mastermind behind the brand AURALEE, has once again teamed up with New Balance. In the past, Iwai has released several collaborations with New Balance, including the 990v4, XC-72, and in 2024, the WRPD Runner.
During Paris Fashion Week 2025, the next collaboration was showcased, featuring two colorways of the CT500.
The New Balance CT500 was designed in 1982 as a tennis shoe, but nowadays, it is also very popular as a lifestyle sneaker. Recently, the silhouette was used in a collaboration with Aimé Leon Dore, and now we’re already seeing the next collab on this silhouette.
On January 21, 2025, the Japanese brand kicked off Paris Fashion Week FW25. On the runway, AURALEE showcased their designs for the upcoming season, including the next collaboration with New Balance. The CT500 model appears in 'Brown' and 'Lime Green' colorways.
The 'Brown' colorway is made from leather and canvas, featuring a gum sole. The 'Lime Green' colorway has a subtle shade of green and is crafted from premium leather. Co-branding appears on the insole and on the accompanying sneaker box.
